On Saturday November 14, 2009 at 9am. One of our fellow TATURs will be hosting the annual World's Highest Hill 5 Mile Uphill Race.
This is the weekend before the Route 66 Marathon and is a great way to spend your last week of your taper.
A large group of TATURs will be making the trip this year and we will carpool from RunnersWorld Tulsa the morning of the race. The race is extremely fun and challenging. It is all on pavement and climbs 1,999 feet in five miles. The views from the top of the hill are incredible.
To learn more about this great race, visit the website at:

Please post here if you would like to carpool with us to this race. _________________ Brian Hoover

Thanks Brian for the plug. Notice that you can register online or mail in your entry form. For only $20 you get a dry fit shirt, lunch and free beer (plenty of water, gatorade and soda too) at the top of the hill and a commemmortive coffee cup for awards.
If you are sure that you are coming, let me know on this board and I will put you back a shirt to make sure you get the size you want because the shirts may be limited.
It is a beautiful race and it may be the toughest five mile race you'll ever love. We should have peak foilage this year with all of the rain we have had so if the weather is good race day, the views will be great. Afterward, you may want to drive or bike the Talimena Drive and enjoy the views there (35 minutes South of Poteau). |

I am not sure yet Mark. We will probably leave Tulsa 3 hours before the race. Do you want to ride with us or follow us down there.
I am glad you are going. It is a fun but tough race. _________________ Brian Hoover

| We had a record turnout! About 105 finishers! Wow! It was a great day for it though a little on the warm side. It certainly is the toughest five miles you will ever run. I hope those that did not make it this year will be up for Oklahoma's Ultimate Challenge next year. |
